Welcome to the Killdeer Artisan Guild

  • Although our artworks and subject matters span the globe, each of us has chosen this area -- the southern gateway to the Flathead Indian Reservation -- as our spot in the world -- to put down roots and commit to living here, in community.

  • We are a cooperative of like-minded artists committed to supporting each other’s creative endeavors.  We pool our talents and resources to support, encourage, and challenge our artistic bents.  Although most of an artist’s work is a solitary enterprise done alone in studios or out in the woods, we believe that the camaraderie and shared community relationships centered around the Arts enriches our work and our lives.

  • We are grateful to live here and to be making art, so we wish to share our gratitude.  Each of us in the Killdeer Artisan Guild has experienced how life-changing and life-enhancing creating art can be.  We believe that art in our surroundings can transform people.  By supporting or hosting community events, by making meaningful community partnerships, and by offering multiple opportunities for local community members to learn about and make art, we deepen the connections of our lives.  We wish to show the world that Arlee, Montana and its surrounding areas is a unique and vibrant arts-and-culture destination.

  • We are most fortunate to call Hangin' Art Gallery in Arlee, home.  Located on the northbound side of Hwy 93 in a historical two story red brick building.   Good food and drink and a rich assortment of fine art by local and regional artists await within. Stop on your way to or from Big Mountain, Glacier Park, Flathead Lake, or any of the area's many attractions.  Check out www.hanginartgallery.com, or call (406) 726-5005 for more information.

  • Last, but not least, we owe a debt of gratitude to the following for their generous and invaluable support in helping the Killdeer Artisans Guild get off the ground: Donna Mollica for her tireless mentoring, leadership and resource development, Arlee Community Development for serving as an umbrella organization through which we have been able to benefit from some funding support for training and resource development, and Jan Tusick, Program Manager for the Lake County Community Development Corporation, for her crucial consulting and assistance in funding support via the Arlee CDC.
